Kingdom Come

No one could believe it.
The kingdom was at hand.
No one would believe Him,
The kingdom-preaching man.

The Teacher was rejected.
He was even caught and killed.
But even after all their hate,
His work would be fulfilled.

You cannot keep the kingdom
From coming down to earth.
You can try your hardest
But it’s groaning for new birth.

His kingdom isn’t of this world,
But the world will be remade.
Heaven’s coming down to stay
in a peace and love crusade.

And all that talk of wheat and chaff?
Of hell, and goats, and sin?
All of it is true, of course,
But it’s by no means the end.

Will not the Judge judge justly?
Won’t the Father do what’s right?
Evil cannot beat the King—
The Healer who gives sight.

Evil suffers every flaw
And giving up is one.
Good just keeps on going
And Good will overcome.
